Trolltunga the famous "language of the Troll" (Norway).
According to Scandinavian folklore trolls were fearsome member of a mythical race sometimes anthropomorphic giant who lived underground in hills or mounds. Inclined to theft and abduction of people, in the case of children, they were replaced by infants changed. Hence the etymology of the name of one of the most famous caves in Norway " Trolltunga : the language of the Troll ". Trolltunga is a piece of rock "hanging" horizontally from the mountain, about 700 meters above the Ringedalsvatnet, in Skjeggedal near Tyssedal by Sørfjorden Hardanger Fjord, Municipality of Odda, Norway.
Thousands of tourists visit Trolltunga during the four summer months. However, until today has no safety rail on the edge of the cliff, this is because in order not to harm the natural beauty of the cliff. Despite the uncertainty of the throat, luckily there were no fatalities on the site so far.
This cliff was formed during the Ice Age, about 10,000 years ago.
