The blue city of Chefchaouen (Morocco).
The blue city of Chefchaouen , Chefchaouen or Chefchaouen is a city of medieval physiognomy founded in the late fourteenth century by Muslim and Jewish exiles because of the recapture of the city of Al-Andalus in the Iberian Peninsula.
Its original settlers were part of the Caliphate of Córdoba, which was under Muslim rule during the Middle Ages, between 711 and 1492.
Chefchaouen was for centuries a holy city, where entry is prohibited to foreigners. For this reason remained virtually unchanged retaining its medieval appearance.
