Maytszishan caves - a treasure of China,
Maytszishan little known Buddhist complex. It is located in Gansu Province in northwest China. This is an impressive architectural complex, excavated in the rock. Maytszishan has 7,000 Buddhist sculptures and 1,000 square meters of murals. Maytszishan is a few kilometers south of the Great Silk Road. Many of the monks decided to stay in these caves and work there. One of the first written records about this are found in the biographies of the two monks Tanhonga and Huanggang, who meditated there with his disciples. Big Buddha is almost perpendicular to the slope Mountain - the largest is 16 meters high. . Stairs leading up and around the caves were originally made of wood, but then have metal brackets, for security reasons
