To complete the collection hanging on cliffs monasteries such as the Monastery of Wadi Qelt in Israel , the hanging monastery Hunyuan county in China , or Sumela Monastery in Turkey , now is the turn of virtually moving to Bhutan. The monastery of Taktsang is located in the vicinity of the town of Paro in the valley of the same name, on very steep, almost vertical slopes. All buildings in the complex are seated on rock.

Taktsang is accecible from several hiking trails, a road that is also dotted with several temples, waterfalls, caves. The monastery consists of four main temples and sites of reception, a resort where every building is connected by steps and stairs built into the rocks, including some rickety wooden bridges. From every balcony, there are beautiful views of the valley surrounding the monastery.
